The test detects the SynchroGait® mutation (chr23:22999655 G>A) in the DMRT3 gene. The inheritance is autosomal semi-dominant. The SynchroGait® test allows for the identification of the genetic key factor responsible for leg coordination. It is then possible to predict performance in two main categories of horses: If harness racing horses have the potential to Pace, and if specific breeds of horse have the potential to perform alternative gaits (running pace, tolt).
